
Dr. Femke M. Ellens, M.D.
PHYSICIAN
Dr. Femke was born and raised in The Netherlands. She studied at the University of Maastricht and after an internship in Accra, Ghana graduated in 2002. She worked as a physician in the emergency department at the Jeroen Bosch Hospital in
's-Hertogenbosch before moving to Cyprus in 2004.
In 2005, after approval by the Cypriot Ministry of Health, she started her own practice in the tourist area of Limassol. The practice is now an established one that is popular with local residents, expats and tourists. Besides running her own practice, Dr. Femke is very active in the Cypriot Sports Society. She has been the resident doctor
of a local volleyball team, attended several sports events, such as boxing and weightlifting, as the
doctor on duty. She has been selected to play for the Cyprus national beach tennis and squash teams several years in a row and represented Cyprus in the 2011 Games of the Small States of Europe (www.liegames2011.li).
In 2015 dr. Femke was one of the first 4 doctors in Cyprus that passed the examinations of the Royal College of General Practitioners, and was rewarded with the title MRCGP[INT] i.e. Member of the Royal College of GP's.
Her knowledge of many languages and her wide range of interests give her surgery a
very international feel!
